CPC is a nationally accredited child advocacy center and is the only center of its kind that serves Jackson County. CPC opened in 1996 as a child-friendly, safe place for children ages 3-17 who are alleged victims of sexual or physical abuse, or who have witnessed a homicide or extreme violence, to provide their statement about their own experience. The statement is obtained through the forensic interview process. In addition to forensic interviews, CPC provides victim advocacy and mental health services for child victims and their families.
