Capacity Building
Strengthening Community Partners for Lasting Impact
At the Children’s Services Fund of Jackson County, we believe it’s important to not only invest in services for children, but also in the organizations that provide those services. Capacity Building is how the CSF can strengthen community partners through staff development and organizational advancement. These investments improve provider performance, which leads to better outcomes for children’s mental health and overall well-being in Jackson County. When service providers thrive, so does the community.
What Capacity Building Aims to Achieve
Through awards for Capacity Building, we partner with organizations to improve performance through the development and strengthening of skills.
These investments are guided by a commitment to two desired outcomes:
- Increased organizational capacity: Enhancing the internal capabilities of organizations in the areas of strategy, finance, marketing and business development, allowing continued delivery of high-quality, impactful services.
- Increased professional staff growth and development: Promoting greater knowledge and understanding of children’s mental health and wellbeing, including not only needs but also the interventions to effectively assist children and their families in growth and healing.
Both outcomes help build a stronger, more resilient ecosystem for children and families.
Learn How to ApplyGrowing Organizational Strength for Greater Impact
We recognize that delivering impactful services for children requires strong, sustainable organizations behind them. That’s why our Capacity Building awards focus not on program delivery, but on strengthening the organization itself—helping partners build infrastructure, improve operations and grow their ability to serve.
Compared to Core Funding, Capacity Building investments help organizations by increasing staff knowledge and improving internal systems. Past funding has supported initiatives such as staff training and certification, strategic/business planning and organizational initiatives around accreditation, to name a few.
