CSF Announces Core Funding: Academic Year Awards

The Children’s Services Fund of Jackson County is proud to invest just under $28 million in 57 projects representing 51 organizations through our Academic Year Core Funding Round.

Recognizing the importance of meeting youth where they are, the Academic-Year Core Funding round is dedicated to supporting projects that provide robust prevention programs and resources that proactively build and equip resilient children and families, and provide or increase access to proven and promising mental health interventions

The services funded in this cycle can take place before, during, or after school.  While most occur during the academic year, activities conducted during summer school are also supported.

“Schools are a critical access point for reaching children and families with the support they need,” said Jovanna Rohs, Ph.D., Chief Program Officer. “By partnering with schools and community organizations, we are able to meet youth in familiar environments and provide consistent and accessible services that strengthen mental health and social-emotional well-being.”

CSF received more than $49 million in requests. As such, the priority was placed on sustaining existing services across Jackson County during a trying financial time, as opposed to pursuing opportunities to expand services for some of our partners.  This approach also enabled the awarding of funding to new programs and partners focused on prevention services.

Rob Whitten, Chief Executive Officer added, “At CSF, we recognize the privilege we have in stewarding public dollars. When invested for the public good, tax dollars make it possible to deliver critical prevention and treatment programs that create healthier, more resilient youth.”

The following awards, which will span the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 school years, were made during the April 16th Board of Directors meeting:
