For more than 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City has served the Greater Kansas City community as the only one-to-one, community-based mentoring organization for children ages 8-18 living in one-parent and/or non-traditional households. The agency’s mission is to create life-changing friendships between children who are facing adversity (Littles) and caring adult mentors (Bigs). These friendships, or matches, are created and supported by professionally trained BBBSKC case management staff and meet on a consistent basis within the community to ensure a meaningful relationship develops between the Big and Little.
