First Call serves families dealing with substance use disorder by providing assessment, treatment, prevention and referral services. First Call primarily serves underserved, uninsured residents of the City of Kansas City, Missouri and Jackson County. The agency serves as a point of connection for substance use disorder treatment agencies, shelters and other social service wrap around agencies through its 24/7 crisis call line. The approach focuses on offering place-based services (both prevention and clinical) at a variety of community partners including other behavioral health agencies, schools, churches, neighborhood associations and others.
