CMHS is the community mental health center for Eastern Jackson County providing a safety net of mental health and substance use treatment services for low-income adults and youth. CMHS has partnered with neighboring school districts for 20 years to provide vulnerable students with psycho-educational prevention groups. CMHS has recently expanded its presence in Jackson County schools by placing prevention specialists and therapists in schools to decrease risk factors and give CMHS direct access to youth in crisis.
